Getting started
Get MOA Credit ready in a few minutes: check customer accounts, send yourself a test credit and work through the setup guide on the Dashboard.
How store credit works
MOA Credit gives your customers Shopify's native store credit. Balances live in Shopify, not in the app, and apply at checkout when the customer is signed in. Credit is kept per currency and uses your store's currency from Shopify by default.
1. Turn on customer accounts
Customers need new customer accounts to hold and spend store credit.
- In your Shopify admin, go to Settings › Customer accounts.
- Make sure new customer accounts are in use, and save.
The app can't read this Shopify setting, so the Dashboard shows this step as done. Check it yourself once.
2. Send yourself a small test credit
- Open Dashboard in the app and scroll to Quick credit (or click Go to Quick credit in the setup guide).
- Paste your own email in Customer emails. You need to exist as a customer in your store.
- Enter a small Amount per customer, keep Email each customer when the credit lands ticked, and click Preview.
- Click Issue credit. Then sign in to your store as that customer and look at checkout.
3. Follow the setup guide
The Setup guide on the Dashboard lists the remaining steps and ticks them off as you go:
- Turn on expiry reminders: see Expiry reminders.
- Launch a win-back campaign: see Campaigns.
- Turn on the balance widget in your theme: see Balance widget. Click Mark as done when you've saved it in the theme editor.
The Dashboard at a glance
- This month: Issued this month, Redeemed, Revenue from credit orders and Expiring in 7 days, counted in your store's time zone.
- Plan: your current plan and, on Free, how many of your 100 monthly credits you've used.
- A banner appears when refund bonuses are waiting for your approval in Automation.
The app's admin screens follow your Shopify admin language. English is the default.
