Campaigns

A campaign gives the same credit to everyone in a Shopify customer segment, now, on a date, or on a weekly or monthly schedule.

Campaigns are on the Growth and Pro plans. Weekly and monthly campaigns need Pro.

Before you start: build a segment

Campaigns use your Shopify customer segments (Customers › Segments in the Shopify admin). For example, a win-back segment can use last_order_date < -90d for customers with no order in the last 90 days.

Create a campaign

  1. Open Campaigns and pick a type: Win-back, Birthday or Custom. The type only fills in a suggested name and hint.
  2. Enter a Campaign name and choose the segment in Who gets it.
  3. Set Credit per customer, Currency and Expires after.
  4. Choose a Schedule (see below).
  5. Keep or untick Email customers when credit lands and Send expiry reminders for this campaign.
  6. Click Estimate reach to see about how many customers are in the segment and the total if everyone redeems.
  7. Click Launch campaign.

Each run reads the segment again, so customers who joined the segment since the last run are included. Scheduled runs are checked every hour.

Manage campaigns

The Campaigns list shows each campaign's segment, schedule and next run, credit issued and customers reached, the share redeemed, and its status (Live, Paused or Ended).

  • Pause and Resume a weekly or monthly campaign.
  • Run now runs any campaign that hasn't ended straight away.

If a campaign can't read its segment

The campaign is always saved first. If it can't start, you see why instead of an error page:

  • "Shopify didn't let the app read this segment's customers": Shopify has not given the app access to customer names and emails yet. Use Run now once access is in place, or contact support.
  • "The campaign is saved but couldn't start": the reason is shown. Try Run now in the list.
  • "Couldn't count this segment" when you estimate: the segment size couldn't be read. Check the segment in Shopify and try again.
